a bit about me

Hi, I’m Kelsey

And I’m here to help you say something special.

My work is meant to create shareable art that captures your essence. Whether that is for your wedding, your desk, or a gift to pass along - making it really come from you makes all the difference in being heard.

There is something special and connective about holding art in your hands, sending it in the mail and letting it pass through your world in a real way. By collaborating with me, we get to work together to create something that not only leaves an impression, but sticks around in keepsake boxes, scrapbooks, and the frames on your wall.

Primarily known for bright colors, hand scripted calligraphy, and unique styling, my work strikes a balance of being playful and crisp. Textures like watercolor, collage, and pastel appear often but are just the tip of the iceberg with digital illustration there to fill in the gaps and get exactly the style we need.

A woman with dark hair and bangs sits on a brick ledge in a garden, smiling at the camera. She is wearing a white tank top, blue jeans, and blue earrings, with a light yellow scarf around her neck.

After a stint in the music industry managing a jazz club, I began to put my creative skills to work designing album cover art, promotional graphics, and logos for the musicians I grew to know.

Combined with my love of snail mail, the kelp subscription began to put that art into people’s hands (literally). Next came the ‘kelp’ brand line of greeting cards, calendars, prints, and other special paper goods - all with the intention of creating small moments of joy and brightness to your day.

The natural next step was to consistently collaborate - which was always the best part of creating to me - which leads you back here to custom stationery, hand engraving, calligraphy and more.

This side of my work can be seen on wedding design suites, brand activations, special events, and more.

I can be spotted primarily creating in Queens, but often at a climbing gym or NYC cycling event :)
